What's in the lab

Two products are out and in use. The rest are still on the bench. Rather than dress up a placeholder catalogue, this page shows both — what you can run today, and exactly how far along everything else is.

Two shipped, the rest still on the bench

Shipping software other people depend on isn't something to rush. Portari and CoverText both took the long way to Live and are now in real use. Everything below them is still in active development or research, with its real status attached — and nothing else moves to Live until it has earned the label the same way.

Want to know when that happens? Join the early access list — one email when something enters beta, and nothing else.

Development roadmap

On the bench right now

Each item shows where it truly stands. The two marked Live are usable today; the rest aren't, and their percentages aren't release dates — they're our current best estimate of progress.

Portari — Managed File Transfer

Live

Self-hosted file transfer for organisations moving files between systems they don't control — a partner's SFTP server, a customer's FTP drop, a vendor's OneDrive tenant — on a schedule, unattended. One job fans out to any number of targets, each delivered and accounted for on its own, so afterwards you can say exactly what moved, what failed, and what became of the original. It raises an alarm when work it expected simply didn't happen, because silence is never success.

CoverText — AI Alt Text & Scan

Live

Missing alt text is a common accessibility gap on Shopify stores — invisible to sighted shoppers, a barrier for screen-reader users, and a missed signal for image search. CoverText scans a catalogue, scores alt-text coverage across both Products and the Files library, and writes alt text back into the product data in bulk. No JavaScript overlay on the storefront: the fix lands in the real content, so it stays put even if the merchant later switches apps. A tool for accessibility, not a compliance guarantee or legal certification.

This tool is aimed at managing OpnSense, pfSense, OpenWrt, and other network devices, with a focus on usability and actionable data for network administrators.

What each status actually means

These labels are deliberately unflattering. An item sitting in research for a long time means exactly what it looks like.

Research

Should this exist?

Talking to people who have the problem, and checking whether something out there already solves it. Most ideas end here, which is the cheapest possible outcome.

Design

What is it, precisely?

Scope, screens, and data model on paper. This is where we decide what the product deliberately won't do — usually the more useful half of the exercise.

In development

Being built toward a beta

Code, tests, and documentation in progress. Still not something to depend on. The percentage is our honest guess at remaining work, not a promise.

Live

Shipped, and safe to depend on

Released, supported, and something an outside business can run on. No percentage, because there's nothing left to estimate — there's a link to go and use it.

The Live label went unused until it was honestly earned. Portari and CoverText carry it now, and the bar doesn't move for the next one.
